Journal Frequency
Advances in Tropical Biodiversity and Environmental Sciences (ATBES) is published three times per year in online open-access format, released in February, June, and October. Each issue contains a minimum of six articles, and all content is freely available immediately upon publication.

Important Notes
- Continuous online publication: Articles may be published ahead of the scheduled issue release date as soon as they are finalised. These are assigned permanent DOIs and can be cited immediately.
- Submission after deadline: Manuscripts received after the submission cut-off will be considered for the next issue. For example, submissions received after 31 January will be considered for the June issue.
- Review & revision timeline: Authors should allow 6–8 weeks from submission to first decision, plus additional time for revisions, copyediting, and proofing.
- Issue size: Each issue publishes a minimum of 6 articles; additional articles may be carried over to the next issue if space is exceeded.
- Schedule adjustments: In exceptional circumstances, the Editor-in-Chief may adjust publication dates with prior notice posted on this page.
Timeline from Submission to Publication
- Submission → Acknowledged within 3 working days
- Pre-review screening → Completeness check, similarity scan, scope alignment — within 5 working days
- Peer review → First decision within 6–8 weeks
- Revision → Authors given 14–30 days to respond; re-review as required
- Acceptance → Copyediting, proofreading, author proof approval — typically 2–4 weeks
- Publication → Released online individually or as part of the February / June / October issue
