Duties of Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for ensuring the integrity, quality, and timeliness of the journal’s publications. Duties include:

  • Leading and coordinating the entire editorial and publication process.
  • Making the final decision on manuscript acceptance, based on editorial board and peer-review input.
  • Appointing, evaluating, and guiding editorial board members to ensure active and competent contribution.
  • Ensuring fair, unbiased, and timely handling of manuscripts.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
  • Ensuring the journal follows ethical publishing standards and COPE guidelines.
  • Retracting or correcting published articles when necessary (e.g., due to error, unethical research, duplication, or plagiarism).
  • Overseeing final editing, production, and quality assurance of published materials.

Duties of the Deputy Editor-in-Chief

The Deputy Editor-in-Chief supports the Editor-in-Chief in ensuring smooth editorial operations. Duties include:

  • Assisting in manuscript handling, editorial coordination, and publication scheduling.
  • Monitoring the progress of the peer-review and editing processes.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
  • Providing input on editorial board performance and policy improvements.
  • Recommending retraction or correction of articles when ethical violations or serious errors are identified.

Duties of Editor

Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts objectively and professionally. Their duties include:

  • Assessing manuscripts based on originality, methodological rigor, clarity, relevance, and contribution to the field.
  • Ensuring all accepted manuscripts undergo thorough peer review by qualified reviewers.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of manuscript content throughout the review process.
  • Upholding accuracy, completeness, and clarity in published research, including adherence to journal guidelines.
  • Communicating editorial decisions and required revisions clearly to authors.
  • Recommending retraction or correction of articles with unreliable data, ethical violations, duplication, or plagiarism.
  • Completing editorial tasks in a timely manner and informing the editorial office of any delays or conflicts of interest.
