Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Section Policies

The Bali Journal of Otorhinolaryngology & Head-Neck Surgery and Sciences (JOOB) publishes peer-reviewed articles in the form of research reports, case reports, and literature reviews. All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system and will undergo a peer-review process as described in another section.

Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

All manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and previously unpublished. Authors are strongly encouraged to use plagiarism detection software to check the similarity of their manuscripts before submission. The editors will perform plagiarism screening for all submitted articles using turnitin software.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the Bali Journal of Otorhinolaryngology & Head-Neck Surgery and Sciences (JOOB) must be original works that have not been published elsewhere. Submitted manuscripts will be evaluated by the editorial team and reviewed by qualified peer reviewers. Each manuscript must demonstrate scientific merit and novelty consistent with the journal’s aims and scope, and must comply with the Focus and Scope as well as the Author Guidelines. The journal uses plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) to ensure the integrity of all submitted manuscripts. JOOB applies a double-blind peer review process, in which the reviewers are aware of the authors’ identities. All editorial and reviewer comments will be communicated to the authors through the editorial office.

Publication Charges

Bali Journal of Otorhinolaryngology & Head-Neck Surgery and Sciences (JOOB) is an open access journal that does not charge readers or institutions for access. There is no fee for manuscript submission. However, this journal charges an article publication fee of IDR 300,000 for Indonesian people and USD 30 for other country for all types of manuscripts. Once the accepted manuscript has been proofread by the authors, the ORLI office will send an invoice to the corresponding author, who must complete the payment process before the article can be published

Publication Frequency

This journal is published twice a year (June and December) in printed form which can be accessed and downloaded from this website.
