GAGURITAN RADEN AYU SITI KHODIJAH (KAJIAN STRUKTUR DAN PENOKOHAN)

Abstract

Gaguritan of Raden Ayu Siti Khodijah or the Balinese version, Gusti Ayu Made Rai Pemecutan, is a literary work in the form of Gaguritan written by an academic from the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (formerly Literature) named Drs. I Made Suarsa, M.Hum. This work was written in 2021 (first edition). The Gaguritan tells the story of a princess from the Pemecutan Palace named Gusti Ayu Made Rai who married Prince Cakraningrat from Madura. Eventually, she was killed after being suspected of practicing black magic (neluh), and later attained Swarga (heaven).The Gaguritan text is then analyzed from the perspective of structure and characterization. The results of the analysis reveal that: The plot is delivered in a linear narrative, starting from the beginning of Siti Khotijah’s story until her death and deification at Setra Ganda Mayu. The story of Gaguritan Raden Ayu Siti Khotijah carries a historical nuance, referring to the Pemecutan Kingdom, King Cakraningrat IV of Madura, and figures from the Pemecutan Kingdom. There were also 40 people from Madura who later settled in Kepaon as permanent residents
