Author Guidelines

The E-Journal of Cultural Studies provides a space for researchers, academics and cultural activists to write down ideas, research findings and critical reflections on cultural issues. This journal accepts articles on cultural studies, such as media studies, popular culture, critical discourse analysis, marginalized groups, cultural politics, power and knowledge relations, critical ethnography, and other relevant socio-cultural issues. 

Article Format

  • Articles are written in English (British or American English, as long as it is onsistent).
  • The author's name is written without academic degree, accompanied by institutional affiliation, and the e-mail address.
  • Article length between 6000-8000 words including footnotes (if any), tables, figures and references.
  • Articles written in Microsoft Words (doc, docx).
  • Articles are written on A4 paper, top and left margins 4 cm, right and bottom margins 3 cm.
  • The Title is written in capital letters and the Subtitle (if any) is marked with : or (), then written in Capital Each Words, using Time New Roman 14 font. For example, CULTURAL STUDIES: Cultural Studies Research or CULTURAL STUDIES (Cultural Studies Research)
  • The abstract should be written in Times New Roman 12 font, single-spaced, and fully justified, with a maximum length of 250 words. Keywords should be listed below, with a maximum of 5 words.
  • The main article contains the Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and Acknowledgments (if any). The article is written in Times New Roman 12 font, 1.5 spacing, 1 cm indentation, and aligned left and right.
  • Bibliography written with the APA Style. template

Reviewing Process

  1. All submitted articles will be selected by the Editorial Team to determine the status of: (a) rejected (if the article does not fit the theme); (b) resubmit (if the article fits the theme, but doesn't fit the format); (c) reviewed (if the article fits the theme and format).
  2. Articles with reviewed status will be sent to a double blind reviewer. The results of this review must be used as a reference for the author to carry out revisions.
  3. After the revision is submitted, the Editorial Team will issue a Copyright Agreement & Authorsip Responsibility as a condition for obtaining a Letter of Acceptance.
  4. Articles that have been produced and published are fully copyrighted by the e-Journal of Cultural Studies.
  5. The editorial team's decision is final.
