Upaya Menuju Kelepasan dalam “Geguritan Yadnya ring Kuruksetra”

Abstract

This study analyses the poem titled Geguritan Yadnya ring
Kuruksetra (The poem on Religious Ritual in Kurusektra)
written by Ida Bagus Rai by focusing it on the concept of
release (kelepasan), that is the union with God. As a traditional
Balinese literature, this geguritan contains religious values
and suitable to be applied in the life of an increasingly
complex and pragmatic situation in the globalization era.
In Geguritan Yadnya ring Kuruksetra the author described
the effort towards deliverance through the implementation
of Catur Marga teaching (four-ways) through the characters
of a brahmin family who always bow down and devotion
to God, always practice of religious teaching, doing good
and carry out yoga for self-control. The description of effort
undertaken by this brahmin family figures reflects the
implementation of elements of Catur Marga that includes the
devotion through pray, knowledge, act, and yoga. Based on
the analysis, this article argues that this geguritan needs to
be promoted widely so that it can be read by more people
because it can deepen their religious knowledge necessary to
guide the behavior of doing good.
