SCABIOSIS IN A ONE-YEAR-OLD MIXED PERSIAN CAT

Scabies is a skin disease of livestock and pets caused by Sarcoptes scabiei or Notoedres cati mites on the corneum layer of the skin. This disease is highly contagious and zoonotic. This case study aims to determine the diagnosis of Scabiosis by deep skin scraping method. A Persian cat was examined at the Veterinary Internal Medicine Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University with a history of frequent scratching, frequent contact with animals with the same disease with clinical signs seen hyperkeratosis on the ears, alopecia on the face and lehe area, and scabs on the face area, the treatment carried out was given Ivermectine injection as causative therapy, diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine maleate orally and sulfur shampoo as syntompative therapy. After 14 days of therapy, good results were obtained where the case cat experienced significant development of the body parts experiencing hyperkeratosis and scabs that had begun to disappear and hair on the parts experiencing alopecia had begun to grow, on the 21st day the case cat looked normal and healthy again.
