COMMUNITY KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE TO RABIES IN THE BANJAR MAS, BEDULU VILLAGE, BLAHBATUH DISTRICT, GIANYAR REGENCY

Rabies is an acute zoonotic disease that spreads through the central nervous system which is very dangerous for warm-blooded animals and humans caused by the rabies virus. This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the community about Rabies Disease in Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. The number of heads of families (KK) who have dogs in Banjar Mas is 48. The design of this research is observational. The number of respondents in this study were all heads of families who kept dogs and had knowledge and attitudes about rabies in Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village, Blahbatuh District, Gianyar Regency, Bali. Research data collection was carried out by means of a census by interviewing the head of the dog owner's family using a questionnaire. Data obtained from the results of interviews regarding aspects of knowledge, aspects of attitudes, and aspects of the behavior of the dog keeping community were tabulated using Ms. Excel, the data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively and displayed in the form of tables. From the results of research by the people of Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village, the results of public knowledge were 83,3%, which means that people already know (understand) about rabies, the remaining 16,7% do not understand. From the results of research by the people of Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village, the results of community attitude were 70,8%, was obtained which means that the people there are positive in their attitude towards rabies in dogs so this will have a positive impact. for the prevention and control of rabies there. It can be concluded that the knowledge of the people in Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village about rabies is high and the attitude of the people in Banjar Mas, Bedulu Village towards rabies is positive in dealing with rabies So it is necessary to carry out communication, information and education by related agencies so that the knowledge and attitudes of the people of Bedulu Village towards rabies can be further improved in the context of preventing and controlling rabies there.
