Abstract

Toxocariosis is caused by infection with Toxocara worms, the Toxocara species that often attacks cats is Toxocara cati. Scabiosis is an infectious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei or Notoedres cati mites in the corneum layer of the skin. Otitis externa is inflammation of the ear caused by several factors, one of which is Otodectes cynotis (ear mites). These three diseases are zoonotic diseases. The aim of this research is to convey the occurrence of a disease caused by ectoparasites and endoparasites simultaneously, as well as to serve as a reference in diagnosing and treating Toxocariosis, Scabiosis and Otitis Externa in cats. A domestic cat was examined at the Veterinary Internal Medicine Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Udayana University with a history of frequent scratching that lasted for 3 months and the cat had excreted feces accompanied by worms for the last 3 days. On physical examination, hyperkeratosis and alopecia were found on the ears, crusts on the legs and neck. In the supporting examination, a skin scraping was carried out, N. cati and S. scabiei agents were found, an ear swab found O. cynotis, during a feces examination using the native method and the floating method, T. cati worm eggs were found. The diagnosis was Scabiosis, otitis externa, and Toxocariosis with a fausta prognosis. The treatment carried out was by administering Ivermectine injections and Praziquantel as causative therapy, oral injections of Diphenhydramine and Chlorpheniramine maleate as symptomatic therapy, fish oil, sulfur shampoo as supportive therapy and administering Livron Bplex vitamins. After 14 days of therapy, good results were obtained where the case cat looked normal and healthy again. Advice for owners is to regularly provide worm medicine and keep the drum environment clean because it is very important for the health of their beloved pets.
