Abstract

Industri logam dasar merupakan sektor hulu strategis yang berfungsi sebagai mother of industries karena dapat menyediakan bahan baku vital bagi sektor konstruksi, otomotif, dan infrastruktur di Indonesia. Urgensi penelitian ini didasarkan pada isu fluktuasi kinerja produksi nasional yang sering kali dipengaruhi oleh ketergantungan pada input global serta kerentanan terhadap guncangan eksternal. Variabel Penanaman Modal Asing (FDI) dipilih karena perannya dalam mengatasi hambatan masuk (barriers to entry) dan memperbarui teknologi industri yang padat modal , sementara variabel Impor Besi Baja digunakan untuk melihat peran ganda perdagangan internasional sebagai penyeimbang pasokan bahan baku yang belum tersedia di dalam negeri. Adapun pemilihan variabel pandemi COVID-19 bertujuan untuk menangkap dampak disrupsi nyata pada rantai pasok dan mobilitas tenaga kerja yang secara drastis mengubah lanskap industri manufaktur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara simultan ketiga variabel tersebut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Indeks Produksi Logam Dasar , dengan temuan parsial bahwa investasi asing dan impor memberikan dampak positif melalui penguatan kapasitas modal serta ketersediaan input antara, sedangkan pandemi COVID-19 memberikan tekanan negatif yang secara nyata menurunkan kinerja produksi industri nasional selama periode pengamatan.
